- All under mounted Sinks must be in place prior to fitting, top mounts must be in place or on site. There should also be an allowance of 5mm for adjustment.
- Granite joins must be supported, this needs to be addressed when locating appliances such as a fridge and freezer side by side not encased in cabinets.
- Check all depths of your hob some are not designed to fit over integral ovens please ensure hob is available the day of templating.
- Ensure the gas outlet for you hob has space from the granite and also from the surrounding cupboard edges to allow room for connection.
- You should allow ventilation from adjoining cabinets where a free standing stove is to be placed, this should also be in place and levelled prior to templating.
- Granite thickness can vary due to the manufacturing process normal thickness is 30mm but can range from 28-32mm, wall units should either be installed after fixing or fitted 34mm above the base units.
- Taps must be available on site on the day of templating.
- Granite worktops require a small amount of movement to enable joins to be adhered, customers who have no requirement for tiles or splashbacks should be informed that a gap between the wall and the granite will be necessary.
- Please do not fix your kickboards as these may need to be removed to gain access to adjust levels.
- Our templaters/fixers have some plumbing knowledge but are not Corgi registered. Therefore we can remove gas hobs to template them but cannot by law refit them (so please don’t ask!) If you require an immediate reconnection please make a provision to do so.
- Please ensure all cabinets are level and flat to within 0.5mm per metre on all planes e.g. A three sided kitchen diagonally and laterally. Front to back levels are also vital.
- Our templaters can advise on additional strengthening or extra batons that may be required at the time of the site visit, if this is necessary please ensure these are fixed prior to fitting.
- Sinks and hobs should be centralized back to front allowing for the thickness of splashbacks/tiles/taps.
- Ballfix valves should be easily accessible should our fixers need to deplumb.
- Please ensure all access routes to and from the work area are cleared, granite weighs in excess of 70 kilos per square metre at 30mm thick and a clear entry/workspace is necessary.
- Between templating and fitting of worktops no alterations should be made (plastering, tiling etc.) Our templaters will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Should for any reason these requirements not be fulfilled, an additional charge at a rate of £35.00 per hour plus materials should adjustments be necessary. If this is not possible a charge may be levied on a delivery/wasted journey of up to £50.00 depending on postcode. Granite worktops are a unique material and require expert handling, all these points will ensure a smooth transaction and ensure correct fitment of your granite/marble, a product you can then enjoy for many years to come.
